Military Service and Clinical Experience

After dental school, Dr. Arnold served as a general dentist in the United States Navy, including a tour at the recruit training command at the Great Lakes Naval Station, a tour at the Naval Hospital in Bremerton, and a deployment aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz. Providing dental care at sea means treating a wide range of patients and conditions with the resources on hand, an experience that sharpened both her clinical judgment and her ability to stay calm under pressure.

Following her Navy service, Dr. Arnold practiced general dentistry in Washington for several years before returning to the University of Washington to specialize in endodontics. That combination of military, private practice, and specialty settings gives her a broad perspective on how endodontic treatment fits into a patient’s overall dental health.
